Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Lynxy is an anonymous, algorithm-free social media platform. Our goal is to let people share thoughts freely — without profiles, follower counts, or personalisation.

2. What data we collect

• Account data: your email address, used only for authentication via Google or Apple sign-in. We never store passwords.
• Posts: text you publish. All posts are attributed to "Anonymous" — your name is never displayed.
• Likes: we store a record of which posts you liked and when, solely to enforce the 24-hour cooldown. This is never shown to other users.
• Consent records: when you confirm that you are 18 or older and accept the Terms of Use (EULA) and Community Guidelines, we store the date and time of your acceptance, the date and time you confirmed your age, and the version of the terms you accepted.

3. What we don't collect

We do not build user profiles, track browsing behaviour, sell data to third parties, or run targeted advertising.

4. How we use your data

• To authenticate your account.
• To enforce the one-post-per-24-hours and one-like-per-24-hours limits.
• To display post content to other users (anonymously).

5. Data retention

Your posts are displayed anonymously and are not linked to your identity publicly. A private, server-side record links posts to your account solely for account deletion purposes — this is never visible to other users. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings, which permanently removes your account, likes, and all posts you have created.

If a post is reported, we keep a private copy of that post's text as it appeared at the time of the report.

6. Automated moderation records

Before a post is published, it is automatically checked against our Community Guidelines. When an attempted post is automatically rejected, Lynxy may retain a private record of that attempt, which contains only:

• the internal account identifier of the account that submitted it;
• the server timestamp of the decision;
• the moderation category that triggered the rejection;
• the decision that was made;
• the length of the attempted post, in characters.

The rejected post text itself is not retained. It is never stored, never published and never shared, and a rejected attempt does not use up your posting allowance.

These records are accessible only to authorized administrators, and are used solely for platform safety and abuse prevention: reviewing moderation decisions, detecting repeated abuse, and enforcing our Community Guidelines. They are never shown to other users, and they are deleted when your account is deleted.

7. Reports and moderation evidence

When you report a post, we keep a private record of the report, including the text of the reported post as it appeared at that moment, the reason selected and the time of the report. Reports are reviewed by authorized administrators, normally within 24 hours.

If an administrator confirms a violation, we retain a private moderation record containing the removed post text, the internal account identifier of its author, the administrator who made the decision, the time of the decision and an internal note explaining it.

This information is used only to document moderation decisions, enforce our Community Guidelines and respond to legal or platform-review requests. It is never shown to other users and is never used for profiling or advertising. Moderation records connected to an account are deleted when that account is deleted.

8. Third-party services

Lynxy is built on the Base44 platform, which handles authentication and data storage. We also use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications, which may process a device notification token and limited technical information required to deliver those notifications. We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To delete your account and all associated data including your posts, use the account deletion option in your profile settings.
